Tour Plan
The official currency is the Swiss Franc (CHF). While some tourist areas may accept Euros, the exchange rate is often unfavorable, so using Francs is best. Major credit cards like Visa and Mastercard are widely accepted in almost all hotels, restaurants, and shops. However, it’s always a good idea to carry a small amount of cash for minor purchases.
This region of Switzerland is predominantly French-speaking, so you will hear French spoken in most towns and cities we visit. However, you do not need to worry if you don’t speak French. English is widely understood and spoken in hotels, restaurants, and at all major tourist attractions. Your tour guide will also be multilingual and happy to assist you.
This is primarily a scenic and cultural coach tour, not a trekking holiday. It involves moderate amounts of walking on generally flat surfaces in towns and at attractions. Any mountain excursions included are typically done via cable car or funicular to enjoy the spectacular views without the need for any strenuous climbing, making it suitable for most fitness levels.
Even on warm summer days, the temperature at higher altitudes in the Alps can be significantly cooler, windy, and can change quickly. We highly recommend bringing a warm layer, such as a fleece jacket, and a light windproof or waterproof jacket for any mountain trips. Sunglasses are also a must due to the strong glare from the sun.
